Thank you for your purchase of the ╥Cyber Photographer╙. We urge you to send in your registration card so that you may be covered by our warranty and stay notified of product upgrades and new releases.
The ╥Cyber Photographer╙ program lives on the CD-ROM and does not modify your hard disk in any way. However, for it to run properly, QuickTime (version 2.0 or newer) must be installed on your machine. QuickTime 2.1 is included on the CD-ROM.
If you are unsure about which version (if any) of QuickTime is installed on your computer, simply open the folder on the CD-ROM disc called ╥QT 2.1 for the Mac╙. Select all files and drag and drop them on top of your system folder. Answer OK to all dialog boxes. Restart the Macintosh. That╒s it.
Inits use up memory and CPU cycles that may be needed to run Cyber Photographer. If you have any INITs which may interrupt game play or use needed memory╤ automatic screen savers for example╤ you may want to turn them off before you begin.
Cyber Photographer requires at least 5 megabytes (5,000K) of free memory to run properly. On a Macintosh with 8 megabytes total memory, you may need to turn off some INITs in order to free up additional memory. Select ╥About This Macintosh╙ under the Apple menu before starting to see how much RAM is free and available. Consult your Macintosh documentation or documentation accompanying the various INITs you may have installed for information on how to turn off individual inits.
The program may require up to 8 megabytes (8,000K) of free memory to run in millions of colors.
Be sure Virtual Memory is turned off. Open up your MEMORY Control Panel and turn off ╥Virtual Memory.╙
The printing program of the disc has a few undocumented features. First if you hold the SHIFT or OPTION key down while clicking the print icon, the print setup and print control dialog boxes will appear. This may be handy for doing multiple copies or selecting paper tray, etc.
If you click slightly above the print icon when print a month, the disc will print an entire year starting with the current month. Each month will feature a different snapshot. If you do the same thing (clicking slightly above the print icon) when printing a card, then the disc will print the selected card with every snap shot on the light table.
The camera program of the disc has one undocumented feature. If you hold the SHIFT or OPTION key down while clicking the next button, the movie selected will be the previous one.
